I have had difficulty with securing a venue. I
believe there is such a change going on that nothing pretty or kind will be seen in this grand prize event.
When I realized this I tried to redo my artwork exhibition to other things I have done and it seems impossible to change that. Maybe I’ll try next year,
however with the trend I see in so-called art, I might not unless I want to paint my toilet & hang it upside down. I hope all who are a part of this find genuine happiness and peace. God bless you all!

  2. Just checking, I have profile, bio, photos etc. I have paid the fee. I have 6 venues on my Manage Connections pg. NOW do I just wait for venue to e-mail me ?? OR do I still need to establish e-mail with them, or call or something to ensure I’m getting a chance to show??? Thanks….Rick

  3. Matthew Saunders says:

I have not gotten any response from any of the venues that I have tried to secure. Will anybody pick up my artwork? Matthew Saunders

  4. Jason Miller says:

I am open to putting my piece in many different environments, and so please make suggestions as to where you think my work will bast fit.

  5. Looking for a venue.

  6. riaz ilahi says:

I am still trying to secure a vanue. I had applied to several vanues but declined.
Please, some vanue people look at my master piece and give me a place and let the world see what I have created in 4 months of hard work. I will be very unlucky if someone does not give me a chance to put up my art work.

  7. Paul Moore says:

    Riaz,
You are making it difficult for venues by having no images on your ArtPrize profile page. If you want venues to consider your work, you have to provide some more information.

  8. S Wollman says:

Wondering what happens if venue isn’t obtained? I haven’t heard back from any of my requests other than one being full.

  9. Vredevevoogd says:

Last night a venue contacted me. (After much time of not hearing anything from any of the dozen venues I contacted.) How & where do we submit the paper Hosting Agreement in order to meet the deadline?

  10. Paul Moore says:

    Vredevevoogd,
No need to send a paper copy of the Hosting Agreement anywhere. Just “sign” it by typing your name like this:
    /John Doe/
and email it back to the venue. Then, be sure you know the final step.

  11. Thomas Stade says:

What is going on here. I have fulfilled my end, but nothing from anyone (venues) there. Guess I’ll not be able to show my work. Why is this so hard to get someone to e-mail you that “we’re full” or ” no thanks.” This is the most frustrating experience I’ve ever encountered in a Art show.

  12. L Larson says:

Ah yes, so simple. However this continued process of try and enter and find where to do what is worse than Rubics Cube. Couple this with a site that is VERY difficult to find, the constant game of Hide and Seek wears on the folks at both ends? Or are the Venues just sitting and waiting for applicants…..
In any case all seems to become the same old PR game and making side trips to venues to sell yourself and your work? Let alone unknowns to W. Mich attempting to do same.
A wonderful idea but IMHO trickles down to the standard core processes of the art world in spite of a Grand Idea.
    Best of luck to EVERYONE…..

  13. Olivia Petrides says:

A list of the venues I had contacted came up once. How can I get the list again?

  14. Heidi Camp says:

Looking for a venue. Let me know if you are interested in displaying a pixilated image of Bono consisting of about 3000 painted acrylic squares. Pictures of artwork can be seen on my profile.

  15. Tracey Meagher says:

I was one of the artists late to register, and so one of the 1200 unplaced artists: I “connected” with dozens of venues – and too received no replies. In desperation I sent out individual e-mails to these venues along with high resolution images for their easy reference and suddenly the replies began pouring in – a lot of the venues were already full but even these were very cordial and I made a few friends along the way. Suddenly I had two positive replies – and am very excited to say I’m now showing at the Riverview Center.
To all those struggling to find exhibit spots, don’t give up or take it personally – the venues are getting slammed with requests so everything you can do to make it easier for them helps – even if its a lot of work for you. The personal approach made all the difference for me as well as the larger images – don’t forget the profile images are tiny!!

  16. Ralph Wileman says:

I have signed and forwarded the Agreemen to my venue of choice. They will recieve it today (Monday the 10th of August). They have already signed it.
Where and how do I “Secure Venue”? It seems to me that I have secured a venue. Confused in Virginia, as usual.
Best regards and thanks for a quick response.
    Ralph

  17. Paul Moore says:

    Ralph,
Signing a Hosting Agreement with a venue is the first step to securing the venue. Imagine signing a marriage certificate, but not sending in a copy to be filed. That “filing your certificate” piece is what you do online. Depending on whether you requested the venue first, or the venue requested you first, the party who received the request has to click “Secure” on their Connections page.

Let’s say you requested the venue first. That venue goes to the Connections page and clicks “Secure artist” next to your name. You then get an email asking you to finish the process by going to your Connections page and clicking “Secure venue.” Once you do that, ArtPrize knows the agreement is mutually agreed upon and you show up as locked in with that venue.

(If the venue requested you first, the ball is in your court to go and click “Secure venue” on your connections page.)

  18. James Markus says:

    Paul,
I have received a handful of already full responses to my venue requests. There are about a dozen “pending”…some since the end of July. Any help in securing a venue would be greatly appreciated.
    Jim

  22. Paul Moore says:

I’ll let Kevin know immediately Dolores.

  23. Cathy Van Voorhis says:

    Hi Paul,
I’m having the same problem as Dolores above and I’m panicking a little because the deadline is tonight and I only received the email today about the final step of clicking the secure venue button. That little link is nowhere to be found and my name does not appear on the artist’s list. The venue has received a signed copy of the hosting agreement.

    Thanks,
    Cathy
