I am registered with a venue but can’t get to the secure it place. Why?

Hi Paul,
I’m having the same problem as Dolores above and I’m panicking a little because the deadline is tonight and I only received the email today about the final step of clicking the secure venue button. That little link is nowhere to be found and my name does not appear on the artist’s list. The venue has received a signed copy of the hosting agreement.

venue and i have signed paperwork. He can’t get my name to come up on artist list ( it was there yesterday) i tried to secure venue on my end. pulled up page, signed in but can’t find secure venue button ( used to be there when i first was searching for venues) HELP!we can’t get a connection!

Paul,
I have received a handful of already full responses to my venue requests. There are about a dozen “pending”…some since the end of July. Any help in securing a venue would be greatly appreciated.

Ralph,
Signing a Hosting Agreement with a venue is the first step to securing the venue. Imagine signing a marriage certificate, but not sending in a copy to be filed. That “filing your certificate” piece is what you do online. Depending on whether you requested the venue first, or the venue requested you first, the party who received the request has to click “Secure” on their Connections page.

Let’s say you requested the venue first. That venue goes to the Connections page and clicks “Secure artist” next to your name. You then get an email asking you to finish the process by going to your Connections page and clicking “Secure venue.” Once you do that, ArtPrize knows the agreement is mutually agreed upon and you show up as locked in with that venue.

(If the venue requested you first, the ball is in your court to go and click “Secure venue” on your connections page.)

I have signed and forwarded the Agreemen to my venue of choice. They will recieve it today (Monday the 10th of August). They have already signed it.
Where and how do I “Secure Venue”? It seems to me that I have secured a venue. Confused in Virginia, as usual.

I was one of the artists late to register, and so one of the 1200 unplaced artists: I “connected” with dozens of venues – and too received no replies. In desperation I sent out individual e-mails to these venues along with high resolution images for their easy reference and suddenly the replies began pouring in – a lot of the venues were already full but even these were very cordial and I made a few friends along the way. Suddenly I had two positive replies – and am very excited to say I’m now showing at the Riverview Center.
To all those struggling to find exhibit spots, don’t give up or take it personally – the venues are getting slammed with requests so everything you can do to make it easier for them helps – even if its a lot of work for you. The personal approach made all the difference for me as well as the larger images – don’t forget the profile images are tiny!!
